Who’s looking for clean teen fantasy for the teen girl?

I’ve read YA books each month and broken down their content for the last year and a half. Here are books I’d recommend for teens.

My criteria is that the romance is sweet with possibly an undescriptive kiss. There might be violence but it’s something you would not see in a PG-13 movie. Lastly, I found the story entertaining.

Here are my top reads:

Book Recommendations

This is about a world where color is magical and teens go away to a special boarding school.
The dragons turn wicked. Get a front row seat into the team that battles these dragons.
This is a Little Mermaid Retelling with its own twists. It’s clean and sweet.
A male protagonist and a dragon tell their epic story.
The message is beautiful and there is no romance. It’s about a girl stuck between two fantasy worlds.
I really enjoy this fairy tale mash up.
I normally don’t like books with fae, but this one kept me reading more. The fae have trickster characteristics.
The message is beautiful, and it is an immersive read in a Japanese-inspired fantasy world.
Jeff Wheeler writes clean romance with themes I can get behind. You can read all the series connected to Muirwood, Kingfountain, and Harbinger, but start here.
This book is marketed as an adult book, but the author writes clean romance in a fantasy world. The protagonist is young.
It’s a high fantasy world in a desert. Check out the author’s website for a free copy.
Of course, I couldn’t recommend fantasy without mentioning my own YA fantasy.
This is an assassin romantasy with a nice redemptive arc.

Let me know your thoughts on these books. I will continue to make lists of books I enjoy. If you’d like more book recommendations delivered to your email, sign up for my author newsletter here.
